Statement
“St
Mary and St Andrew’s is a Catholic Primary School and as such the gospel values
and the beliefs and practices of the Catholic Church are fundamental to the
whole life of our school. In the education of our pupils we aim to
encourage each individual to achieve their full potential academically, socially
and spiritually. With families and parishes we work together to offer
mutual support as a Christian community where care, respect and consideration
for others are paramount and together we make our school a happy place.”
Aims of the School
To establish a partnership of trust, mutual respect and co-operation between the
school, the home, the parishes and the community.
To educate our pupils in the beliefs and rites of the Catholic church and
nurture the faith development of pupils by offering an experience of living
Gospel values within the Catholic tradition.
To provide an inclusive, caring and supportive environment for all pupils and
enable every child to fulfil their potential.
To work in partnership with parents and external agencies to promote the
well-being of all children and to provide support for every child to be healthy,
stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic
well-being. To
provide a broad balanced curriculum for all pupils.
To encourage our children to become confident, independent and
socially-conscious members of our school and of the community in which they
live. To assess
and monitor pupils' progress throughout their primary years and prepare them for
transfer to secondary school. |
