Fr Adrian's Silver Jubilee of his
ordination to the priesthood which was
held on Tuesday, 14th November, was a
truly wonderful occasion in every
respect. Uplifting, enriching,
impressive and
rewarding are just a few of the
adjectives that could be used.
The church was full to capacity for the
occasion and more than thirty brother
priests from near and far came to
rejoice and concelebrate
Mass with Fr Adrian. A number of
permanent deacons also took part.
An ecumenical flavour was was added by
the presence of Fr Paul Benfield, the
vicar of St Nicholas' church in
Fleetwood. Fr Adrian and Fr Paul
have been friends since Fr Adrian was
parish priest at
St Wulstan’s.
An excellent homily
given by Fr Paul Fisher included humorous references to
and examples of Fr
Adrian's virtues of always being
well-prepared and organised. These
insights were well received.
After Mass there was a superb buffet in
the Haydock Room and it was splendid to
see everyone enjoying themselves so
much.
On behalf of all who were fortunate
enough to be present - A big thank you Fr
Adrian. |
